Owen & Son Lawn Service

Services

Everything we do —in plain English.

We’ll quote any of these on-site. The price you get is the price you pay — no surprise add-ons, no upsells.

  • Weekly Mowing

Sharp lines, even cut, same morning every week — Bermuda, St. Augustine, or zoysia, kept at the right height for a Texas summer.

Weekly or bi-weekly mowing on the same day each week. We mulch-cut by default to feed the soil, change blade height by season so the lawn keeps moisture through July and August, and bag on request. Edged at every visit. Walks, drives, and porches blown clean before we leave.

  • Edging & Trimming

Crisp edges along beds, walks, and drives. String-trimming around fences, posts, oaks, and AC units a mower cannot reach.

Power-edged borders that hold their line for the full week, careful trim work around obstacles, and a final blower pass so nothing carries over to the patio or street. We watch for sprinkler heads on every property and flag any that look off.

  • Bed Maintenance

Hand-pulled weeds, seasonal pruning timed to the plant — and ornamentals that look like someone tends them.

No glyphosate around vegetable beds or kid-play areas unless you ask. Pruning timed to the plant, not the calendar — crepe myrtles in late winter, salvia after first bloom, lantana when it gets leggy. A fresh mulch top-up every spring and fall.

  • Leaf Cleanup

Fall live-oak and pecan drop, plus winter debris — bagged, blown out of beds, and hauled off so the lawn breathes again.

East Dallas live oaks and pecans drop heavy from October through January. We bag what wants bagging, mulch what wants mulching, and blow out flower beds and the gutters from the ground so spring comes in clean.

  • Mulch Refresh

Hardwood, cedar, or dyed black — installed at the right depth so the beds look fresh and the weeds give up.

Bulk-delivered mulch (or bagged, your call), hand-spread to a consistent 2 to 3 inches around plants and trees, with a clean shovel-cut edge against the lawn. We pull last year’s clumped mulch first if it has matted into a crust.

  • Hedge & Shrub Trimming

Boxwood, holly, ligustrum, photinia — shaped tight or natural, your call.

Hand-shears for the finish, electric trimmers for the bulk. We size everything by the plant’s habit so it doesn’t look square if it shouldn’t be. Cuttings hauled off in the same trip — never piled by the curb.

  • Spring Cleanup

Cut back last year’s perennials, edge beds, refresh mulch — and have the property ready before the first hot weekend.

A full-property reset before the Texas growing season takes over. Perennials cut back, beds edged with a shovel, fresh mulch, lawn scalped if it needs it, and a walk-through with you so we agree on what gets pruned hard and what gets left alone.

Starts at $195 · per visit

  • Sprinkler Check-Ups

We are not a licensed irrigator, but we watch every zone, flag broken heads, and set realistic schedules for Forney summers.

On every visit we keep an eye out for the head spraying the fence or the zone that never came on. We do not touch backflow or main-line work — Texas requires a licensed irrigator for that — but we will tell you exactly what is wrong, recommend someone we trust, and adjust the controller for the season.

Most weekly customers add cleanups, mulch, and the odd hardscape job — there’s usually a flat-rate way to handle that.
